GLEANINGS

I use ritual and cyclical actions to create quiet works that are built on artifacts of daily life and compress the slow accumulation of materials over time. “Gleanings,” a project I have been making since 2010, is a meditation on growth and severing. The hair used in this project is cut every few years. This amount of time bookends life events and allows reflection as well as detachment as I create abstract forms by slowly stitching them down.
